I like how the Providers page loads the records in a different order every time the page refreshes. I think that's such a good idea for a database in which there's no natural hierarchy. But how is it pulled off? I'm going to hazard a guess that the CategoryTable template in the Listing templates has been amended with a query amendment overwriting the database settings (limited to ascending and descending) and instead instructing the ordering to be random. But I'm not going to be able to do much beyond demonstrating some intuition. Can anybody shed any light on how this is pulled off and, more importantly, give some example code?

I am trying to get this to work, but its not matching: {{$catName = str_replace('Misc Instruments', '', $row->container()->_title);}} I suspect its because $row->container()->_title is coming back encoded? Can I convert that to text somehow? Appending the "|raw" element sends back weird characters.

Hello, Thera are a lot of space in Our Picks Carrousel footer. The issue is related to this that I comment here: and here: Why? Because, If "More" button appears in Menu, the carrousel shows as follow: If "More" button doesn´t appear in Menu, the carrousel show as follow. In this case there is also more space than it should.

Let's say I'm using a 728x90 ad and uploaded the image and separately the link, the banner image resizes smaller on smaller screens. If I use HTML with an image tag, it does not resize the image for the banner on smaller screens because I'm using my own code. I haven't looked but does anyone know what class uploaded image ads are using to resize? Maybe I can apply that within an HTML tag for an inserted ad?

Hi, today I upgraded my testboard. After having finished the procedure successfully we had no more profile pics. The link is still there but the files are gone. Our testboard has no template mods. What happened? Anybody else had this strange behavior?

Hi there, As the title implies, I would like to know what you use for backing up your website. I was using codeguard and thought it was good till I needed to restore my website after something broke and realize that the database was totally out of date, I was missing more then a week. It was suppose to backup every day. Now looking for a better solution and would like opinions.

topic creation is not being allowed in my forums on any topic including trying to send a support request we are getting blocked with a message: Something went wrong. Check the values provided on the marked tabs and try again. everything is filled in so its making me think there may be a hidden field that has required set to it but I cant even see where that is controlled. Any help/guidance would be appreciated. Invision Community v4.2.0

I am using the grid view for forums but i feel it looks a bit boring What i want, is to add an image to each forum. I've downloaded a plug in that allows me to put a cover image to each forum, but that is only a banner when i view the actual forum (no image in grid view) The closest i could get, was to add an image in the description for each forum. This might work, even though i am not sure how to get it right. On the other hand, it looks strange in the actual forum view. Do you have any good sugestions to this?

Hi fellow Pages users, Just upgrading one of my communities to 4.2.2 which uses Pages. I only have a few Blocks in Pages which survived the upgrade, the ones I have created myself are fairly obvious even to me, but some which I never created myself I'm unsure if I still need. I think they may be from the original IP.Content era. I'm unsure about removing them in case I break functionality. Does anyone know which blocks come as standard on a brand new Pages install, please? If it helps, here's a screenshot of what is currently listed. Many thanks.

Hi, We are really struggling to get Tapatalk to work on IPS4 - It asks to get the Tapatalk file and 'upload it to the root of your forum system'. This is something we didn't need to do on 3.4 so I would appreciate it if someone can help us get the file in the right place so the plugin will work correctly. Many Thanks in advance.

Just wondering if there is a way to show all hidden topics on a board or within a specific sub-forum? We removed a user with a long history and accidentally ticked the "hide topics" checkbox in the process. All their posts show up as Guest now which is fine, but I'd like a quick way of showing all hidden topics so that I can reactivate them.

I searched and couldn't find a topic covering this, though I think I've seen one before. Some of my users are reporting that they regularly get double notifications of some common (and old) topics. This isn't a result of a user quoting them or mentioning them; they just "follow" the topic and get the notification when someone replies. Here's what one looks like: You can see there that "djake" replied, and this user got two notifications with the same timestamp. I looked in core_follow and don't see anything out of whack - the one user has one entry in the table for this particular topic. I'm not sure what's going on. Any ideas? Anyone else seen th…

I don't know why, after upgrading to version 4.2, there are a few topics where my board's members posts must now be approved by moderators... while they can post elsewhere without restrictions. Is this a new option or a bug ? If it's an option, where can I find it ? (I searched and didn't find...) Thank you !
