V2 to V4 upgrade?

Hello, My board is still on V2 - do I need to go to v3 first or can I upgrade to V4? The upgrade documentation seems to just deal with in-version updates. Do I just make a copy of the current dir and upload these files over the top and run setup? Will it upgrade the database for me?

I purchased commerce last night and just setting it up. I have a problem with it promoting user group upon purchasing. I set up one product, and it works fine. However, another one that is set up to offer advertising doesn't promote group. When you buy it you should get adverts in the board (which works) and also promoted to another group. This doesn't work, the user stays in their original group. All the settings seem to be fine, and the same as the working product. Permissions are fine. Any thoughts?

Sometimes when I'm on my iPad, when I edit a post, then click the 'save' button, it doesn't respond. You can see the button depress when your finger touches it, but it absolutely will not save. It does this inconsistently, but when it happens it annoys me. Anyone else having this issue at times? I've added an Advertisement (Upload Image type), and works great. How do I add a Title for the block that shows up on my site? ie. Right now it only shows the image, but I want to add a Title that says "Our Sponsors" above the image... I renamed my advertisement in the admin section "Our Sponsors", but it does not that text above the image on the main site.

I have this user who signed in through facebook. On Facebook he had this stupid naked picture of himselve as profileimage. Now - he changed his username and removed the picture from facebook and from everywhere on the net. Still - when people search for his name - first thing they see is this naked picture with a link to my forum as the first hit on google. So - it seems - allthough he has changed his profilepicture and name - his name is still in the quotes all around my forum. How do we recount that in 4.1? Thanks KI

Hi guys, Been playing around with my new IPS installation, still haven't got the import to work yet..in the meantime I have made a couple of minor theme changes. Mostly the colour but also added a header image using the header image plug in, and added a site logo. Earlier I was playing around with the menus, added a new menu button to an external website. That is literally all I did. Now the header area looks like the attached. I reverted the menu to how it was before, nothings changed. Any idea why this happened please?

Hi all Hope this is the right forum. I have some data that is populated into the mysql database externally. Is there some simple way to retrive and display it in the header of the site. I am running ipboard 4.1. Thanks for any guidelines, i was reading about the classDB.php but i assume there might be some easier way to do this.

Evening My site logo fits my site on my laptop perfectly in firefox - When I use my desk top it is too long Currently I am using iro 1300 x 130 size Also people complain when they restore down (make the view smaller) the logo decreases differently from the rest of the board Any ideas Thanks

Hello, Using the latest IPS/IP.Board I'm hoping someone has figured out a way to do this. I could use the announcement system (but then I have to open up the announcement system to ALL my moderators of different forums, and it appears I can't restrict which forums they are allowed to post announcements to). I am trying to use the "Users can only see own posts" permission setting for our support forums, so that they are private posts. However, we have specific instructions on the formatting of their post (think a template they use). I would like to let my moderators post and pin that template in their respective forums, however, it appears that regular users …

Hello, I have SSO in my web app and in order to authenticate people using ipb I'm using the following code: require $path.'/forum/init.php'; \IPS\Session\Front::i(); echo id: ".\IPS\Member::loggedIn()->member_id; Very ofter I get an empty member_id from the echo command and the session disappears from my part of the application. The session in ipb still works fine and after clicking several links in the forum, the member_id variable becomes available again and so the session for my part of the app. This happens all the time. Should I add anything else to those two first lines in order to use the session information in my app ? Thanks.

Hi guys, I'm trying to configure Facebook login handler properly. Today I have finally got my App approved by Facebook. And seems it almost works, but on the very last stage, when facebook redirects me back to community, community login/register page says "Something went wrong". Very detailed error explanation, I really love it... but no idea, what exactly goes wrong. Could somebody help and provide example (screenshots) of proper facebook App settings? I'm not sure that I have configured "Advanced" tab properly Thanks!

Hi! I get an error as I try to create a topic Error code EX2 ,the funny thing is that the topic is created perfectly but instead of previewing the topic i have just created i get an error. For replying topics something alike happens, this time i dont get any kind of visible error, as i hit reply button appears again clickable as it nothing had happened, but the reply was ok... any clues?
