I read somewhere that you can use Amazon S3 as file storage. I remember years ago my forum got full of images and it was a concern when hard drive on my server was getting full. What are the pros and cons of using Amazon S3 to store my uploads, is it slower to access images? I'm not worried about the cost of the S3, more the performance when members view the forums. Hey. I just registered my AdSense account and am being instructed to setup the test code on my site. I did so in the Advertisements panel but I see no difference on my AdSense account. Could someone help me set up AdSense? I've never used it before.

I'm maybe missing something obvious here, but... I have a military history forum, and I have multiple groups based on army rank. They start as Private and work them selves up the ranks. I recently added a rank below Private, cadet, but new recruits are still starting in Private. How do I set the Cadet group as the starting point?

I am interested in setting up a subforum where thread starters of a certain group (subscribers) can have moderation permissions for threads they have started - I have seen from a search that this can be done - Can it be done in IPS 4?, if so how - I would consider paying if cost is reasonable Regards Bacman

I am needing to add discount functionality to commerce, more than what is available right now. currently theres these 3 choices. Most of these 3 are self explanatory. 1st Usergroup: would apply a discount for the specific user for that item 2nd Previous Purchase: would be if they have purchased before you get a specific price for that item 3rd Sale Discount: allows you to discount 1 item after x amount are in your cart to $x.xx I am needing exactly like the Sales Discount section however it will discount the whole sale. Looking for some help from the community: I need to make a new version of the Topic Feed Forum Sidebar Block which only differs by showing the last poster's avatar and name as we have a lot more people that comment on posts than we do creating them, however I do prefer the one item per topic format of the Topic Feed. Hello together, my following question is related to the commerce topic. We want to switch to IPS. We are selling a product and want to use the commerce application to realize that. When we update our product it will result in a downtime. At the moment we use a different software and we need to add the downtime manually to the subscriptions. I am testing at the moment if it is possible to do it automatically with IPS4. My idea was to create a Block on the client site with an php code. Its great that IPS has an inbuild ad-system, but it seems that ads are being displayed on error pages like 404 pages. If you fore example use Google Adsense you will be getting in trouble for putting ads on error pages since its against their TOS. So how can I exclude ads from being displayed on 404 and other error pages?

Dear All Is it possible to remove likes from a post? I posted a number of posts which have attracted likes. I have now changed the authors of these posts using an app to a member that cannot get likes. However the likes for the previous author still show: The like button isn't there, which is what I expected. However the likes given to the previous member are. I don't want to take the likes from the member, but want to get rid of the shown likes on just these posts. Is it possible?? Not sure I've explained adequately Many thanks Bill

Hi, I have a serious problem on my boards, members are getting logged into other members accounts, i have no clue why this is happening and there is nothing on the logs on the boards, this started happening last night while i was sleeping, when i woke up i was greeted with many messages from people telling me how they were logged into account with access they shouldn't have. I can't even begin to explain what caused this.

like 40 ppl reported so far that they have been receiving a msg that they got banned for no reason at all. using 4.0.7. ive checked logs and no one banned them, and their usergroup remains the same. so i have no idea how they are getting banned :S they get a msg from the forum saying you have been banned error code 2s160/4
