Invision Power’s most comprehensive Tag Management system

Radical Tags is a modern tag and prefix management system for IPS 4.4, carrying over the features you know and love from the original Advanced Tags and Prefixes application by Ryan with many new additions and usability improvements.

Notice: If you need to use this application on IPS 4.4, please download version 1.8.1 from the Previous Versions tab below. Versions 1.9.0 and up will only be compatible with IPS 4.5.x

Features

Radical Tags supports many features out of the box, with many more useful features coming in future releases.

Tag and Prefix customization

  • Customizable tags and prefixes, supporting both an easy-to-use interactive editor and an advanced HTML based editor.
  • Supports not only prefixes, but regular tags as well! Make your tag lists stand our with color-coded tags.

 

Forum / Category settings

Radical Tags allows you to configure settings for tags and prefixes on a per-category basis. These settings include..

  • Requiring a prefix
  • Customizing the tag mode (open, closed, or prefix only)
  • Setting a custom language string for the Prefix input (for example, “Platform” on gaming themed forums)
  • Customizing lists of allowed or suggested tags
  • Customizing which prefixes are allowed to be used
  • Setting a default prefix
  • Setting the minimum number of tags that must be used
  • Setting the maximum number of tags that can be used

Aliases

  • Provide “aliases” that replace commonly used tag synonyms with a single standardized tag of your choosing. For example, on a photography forum, you may have common tags such as “nature photography” that you’d prefer just be saved as “nature” or vice versa. With this feature, you can add an alias that will automatically convert these tags on submission.

Tag management

  • View a list of your communities most used tags, filterable by any item type (Topics, Gallery Images, Blogs, even other third-party applications!)
  • Replace tags in just a few clicks
  • Easily search for and delete unwanted tags

Widgets

  • Elegant and customizable tag cloud widgets

This is a really helpful tool that is a perfect replacement for Advanced Tags and Prefixes application by Ryan. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of being able to have prefixes as "Saved Actions", which I believe is coming soon.

The plugin works as expected and offers what the description says ... I'm not sure why it received 1 star. Seeing the support thread the issues a customer had seem to be related to a third-party plugin.

Before you decide whether or not to invest in this application, I suggest that you look very carefully at the support topic right from the beginning and understand the patterns of problems which occurred and the quality of the support which has been provided over a period of 18 months since the application was first introduced into the marketplace.

it seems to have got quite good ratings so it probably works for some people – but it never worked for us – right from the beginning.

We were refused a refund

Hi @BankFodder,

The issues you were experiencing were likely the result of a compatibility issue with another third-party plugin or application.

You were consistently provided with support that was answered within a 24-hour time period,

You reported another template issue afterwards, which I was not able to reproduce locally and promised to look into for you as soon as possible. These issues are usually specifically related to server configuration issues, or a conflict with another third-party plugin or application. Had you allowed me to assist you, I could have had this issue resolved for you promptly.

There was a brief delay over the weekend after you reported the issue, unfortunately, as my apartment complex was broken into the following weekend and the day after in a series of riots that are currently sweeping the nation. I attempted to explain this to you, but you responded by demanding a refund.

Keep in mind, this was only 2-days after you reported the issue in question.

On Monday, I apologized to you for the delay and asked you to again provide me with access to your community and promised to have the issue resolved for you immediately.

You refused to provide me access, stating it was too much effort, and then proceeded to insult me for providing bad support despite me repeatedly asking you to please let me help you.

I am normally prompt in responding to issues, but there were unique circumstances over this weekend that prevented that. I do not believe this justifies you insulting my support capabilities and immediately demanding a refund, which is why I denied your request.

I am sorry you are disappointed, and my offer to assist you still stands should you be willing to accept my support.
