About This File

This applications lets you upload an icon or use a fontawesome icon on the menu/navigation.

It is fully built into the menu manager so no learning curve required.

Features include:

  • Icons appear on primary navigation bar, as well as the mobile bar.
  • Allows for various icon types including images, FontAwesome icons, or raw HTML/CSS to not have to mess around with your templates.
  • Live viewing of your icon directly in the menu manager.

I'll release updates and whatnot, let me know what you think!

Bug Fixes

  • Completely rewrote to be less hacky, and solve all issues with saving. However due to a limitation in IPS, some menu item types may have to manually be added to the application (extremely easy, just PM me and I can do it in 2 minutes), but no further issues should arise.
  • Add icons for new menu items without having to save them initially.

Works as intended, also easy to use. Helped me to better organize menus on my site and reduce size of custom.css file. And to top it off this thing is free! Thanks @silenceheaven for creating it!

I don't find in the RAR archive an installation tutorial!
It would have been helpful.

This should really be built into IPS. Still working great on 4.4.4.

I was working on another IPS site much newer than mine and totally forgot the functionality of this application was NOT part of plain IPS. I was really annoyed thinking they (Invision) removed it, but nope I just forgot that my normal 4.3 site has your application!

Not sure why people are experiencing any problem with it, but here are some tips:

  • It works fine for me with external links.
Are you using the full http or https url?
  • Make sure you're using the right FA icon names for FA ver. 4.7 (not 5.0...unless you are the rare person who's gotten that for IPS). For example: fa-globe, fa-home, fa-photo, etc. It does require the "fa-" prefix.
    See: https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/cheatsheet/

Works as intended I guess, except that it breaks menu items that are set as external links so they are not shown on the menu at all.

Doesn't work, shows the original 'pages' icon next to whatever you set so app is useless in its current state.

Response from the author:

Is this happening on a custom theme or the default theme?
