Whilst this may be a good product unfortunately it puts all the work of managing it to someone that has ACP access i.e. me

I have a user who will manage all the FAQ's and support for other users so I want to give him access but not access to the ACP. Basically what I am saying is that doesn't have any permission system or can be added to or edited from the front end.

And if you want the promotional link gone in the footer the whole app is going to cost you $65 for a basic FAQ system.

Sorry, but now looking at the alternate FAQ system which is far more powerful (and much cheaper in the end)

To date, on my site, this module has not worked for a single day normally. For more than 2 months, the author promises to solve the problems. But nothing. Long responds ...

Response from the author:

Since day 1 you have had a problem yes ( although no one else did ), I offered you a refund, you said no thanks, I also said that I was writing a big update to it what will take a while, you said fine you will wait to try that, I then said it was taking a bit longer due to other projects and offered you a free plugin to try and make up for the delay ( and like I said no one else had your problem so did not need to do that ) to which you ignored, there is only so much someone can do

1. You are not able to edit the format.
2. To unbrand it, it costs an additional 65 dollars (CAD)

I could not recommend it any less in its current state.

Response from the author:

1. that don't make sense as the q & a's are editable

2. the copyright removal is not $65 I do not know you get that from

3. the demo site it loads in under a second, maybe it is your host

PS, there is always a support topic if you have any problems it goes a long way in helping

Although this is good plugin, it broke our site's sitemap (would lock up all background tasks and the cron job would error out). It would always say "reindexing FAQ" for days and days. Ever since I disabled the plugin our background tasks now execute correctly and no more errors popping up about our sitemap.

Hope this is fixed soon as I want to use this asap (will change rating too).

Thank you

Great app. It allows us to have all the information that users need in a single page, in a modern and elegant way

Disclaimer: I received this application for free when I purchased the Copyright/Branding Removal because I had multiple apps. As far as I am aware I will still have to pay renewal costs, but otherwise I didn't pay for this. I will try and be as objective as otherwise possible, but please bear this in mind.

At the time of writing this there are two FAQ applications up on the marketplace, and both are really good. However this one is better for me, as its quite a bit more modern in that answers will appear when you click on the questions, which is formatted rather nicely - rather than clicking on a line of text that opens up a popup/modal window. This FAQ Application is quite elegant and I rather like how streamlined it is.

I did run into a bit of a breaking bug with version 1.0.5, in that my answers had to be a certain length but the Application Author (@TheJackal84) fixed this very quickly indeed. I have no faults with this developer at all, either. He seems to be quite passionate about his customers and prideful of his work, which is a plus. The Application is in my opinion well worth the money, and doesn't seem to have any problems with IPSFocus Themes (Tested with Shift), and I suspect is theme friendly. You can also have multiple categories that shows up its own pages. This application does everything that is advertised.

(Version: 1.0.5/1.0.6)

For the downsides, there isn't really any. The /faq/ page is a little bit on the rigid and non customisable side; but you can still do it on the front end and made blocks for it. But I'd like to see more such as an option to change F.A.Q and use a header image, or allow the individual components of the FAQ thing be blocks that we can use on the front end to customise our own pages for it or something. This can be done to some degree already with a bit of determination but it could be easier... Is this a deal breaker for me? Absolutely not.
