This plugin will display Clubs Topic features (forums in Clubs) on Forums (app) index. It will display only forums that the user can see.

Setting:

  • Clubs forums position
    • Above regular forums
    • Below regular forums
  • Type of Forums to display
    • Only Forums from Clubs that I am member
    • Forums from Clubs that I have permission to view
    • Forums from specific Clubs

Note:

  • What is the advantage of using this plugin over default IPS feature? This plugin has 2 advantages:
    • You can choose the block position
    • You can choose to list:
      • only forums from Clubs the user is member (IPS lists ALL forums, even those from clubs the member isn't member)
      • only forums from specific Clubs

This plugin can radically change how one uses the Invision Community software if you have a lot of clubs that struggle to maintain a vibrant amount of activity. This truly bridges the gap of the benefits of having clubs while removing the downside of people having to check individual clubs by bringing them into the main forums for those that have joined (one of the possible settings). I have noticed some bugs:

1. One of my main clubs was showing up for guest users (i.e. not logged in) when they should not have been able to. I fixed this by changing the club to private, and back to open and refreshed the main page (not signed in). It immediately started working. My site does not allow for Guest access. 

2. Joining AND leaving clubs did not seem to always register in terms of this plugin. When I disabled and re-enabled the plug, it did finally properly show the dozens of clubs I joined as a test where it was not showing them before...even after signing out and in to no avail.

Response from the author:

Version 1.0.4 updates the forums list when a user joins/leaves a club.
