This is something I felt was missing on my site. Something that automatically updates and shows my users what is happening right now, without them needing to keep refreshing or keep on clicking new content. A well put together app in my opinion.

Would also like to point out excellent support with some very early issues that have now been resolved in the release, and were resolved very quickly.

I dont really use the Social Stream as a standalone page, but as a widget/block its unbelievable useful.

On my startpage I have a widget which show all the latest posts from all apps (forum, blogs, articles) Now users can discover new content without having to look through three different widget blocks. But whats more important, I have created a widget showing new posts from members each user follow. Those are blocks that should have been part of the default suite, but I am quite sure that they will never be. So Thank you :)

You can use the standalone Social Stream application to show a never-ending feed of posts, comments, and images from around the community or you can drag-and-drop the Social Stream widget anywhere you want.  Between the app and the widget, you have a perfect method to show your suite's activity without relying on the Activity Stream or View New Content.  I use the Social Stream widget on my homepage, which showcases my community's activity from all apps and allows new members to see all the great content that's being posted, not just on the forums but from everywhere!

If you own multiple IP.Apps with content spread out everywhere and you've struggled with "unifying" your content into one community, this app is a necessity.

I also wanted to add that @HeadStand does a great job of addressing bugs and providing support, even when she gets busy.  She also some really exciting things planned for the Social Stream to make this an amazing addition to any vibrant IPS 4 community.

Perfect app to keep an eye on what's happening in the community in real time. The live updating of the stream is very cool. It's extremely easy to use and does just what you expect it to. Great job!

A great idea, but the styling needs a bit of polish, so I ended up working with activity streams to get something similar but more attractive.

Poor support, and it doesn't work with 4.1.16. I really wish these mods could be tried out before having to purchase them. It's always a crap shoot, on whether or not they will work.

The widget is nice, the social stream page looks very bad, and only some features work. this app should be a fraction of its asking price, a member donated $50 and i picked this add-on and i should of picked something else. At least it will save me money by not buying the newsletter addon now , fair warning

Response from the author:

Note: You waited less than 7 hours for responses to your support requests before posting this review. During that time, you bombarded the support thread with about 6 or 7 requests. Most people wait at least 24 hours for a response before posting negative feedback.

Further, you didn't clarify what's wrong with the main stream page beyond "it looks very bad". I welcome all constructive feedback; if you are more specific in your complaint, perhaps I could make some changes.

Auto Refreshing, not working in Desktop, and Mobile Phone in newest version of modern browsers (Chrome, and other) with IPS 4.3.6. This app it's a joke. Obsolate code. With this APP, Users can add empty comments 🙂 They can comment on photos, but posts no longer. 1/3 of the declared things work, provided you make a hard refresh.
