VideoBox - Video & Livestream Sharing Platform 4.5.4

Support is FANTASTIC!  I went back and forth with @onlyME for about 2 hours this afternoon trying to address various issues, and he has always been very helpful and supportive.  

This video application is a very full-featured application.  You can define your own custom categories *"Action" or "Mystery"), collections (eg. "My Favorite Action Movies of 2015"), custom fields, reference pages, and custom media tags. Everything is bare bones when you first install the Videbox application, so you'll need to have a good idea of how you want to structure everything.   

What really impressed me are a dozen-or-so widgets you can use to create a very powerful portal page for your Videos, including widgets for Most Viewed / Featured Videos / Latest Comments, etc.  There's also a really nice Nivo slider you can use.  

I'm still trying to figure out the custom media tags, but I'm hopeful it will be fixed soon.  As a premium application in the IPS Marketplace, this is well-worth the price and the support is great.  

As always onlyME delivers a fantastic addition to our communities.   Simple install, slight learning curve and PHENOMENAL support make this community add-on fantastic.  

I had a couple of issues with figuring out how things work (It is a very full featured app!), onlyME was right there with the answers immediately.   And when I screwed up some stuff through operator incompetence, onlyME was happy to fix it for me.  Running 100% and my users absolutely love it.   I am sure yours will also.

10-Star Support. I re-purposed this application for streamers and gameplay videos and it works perfect. Everything is fully customizable and he keeps it updated. Every question I've had, onlyME has answered extremely quickly (sometimes in just a few minutes). I definitely recommend this app.

Very happy so far, fuss free and loading nice and quickly.

Developer very responsive and fixed a small issue with thumbnail CSS - literally within 5 minutes of reporting it.

Have to say that VideoBox would benefit from documentation and perhaps some notes on YouTube quotas - in short, YouTube won't allow you to download hundreds of videos at the same time (using the optional YouTube Importer from the same author) given the default YT quota is only 10,000 units per day (a unit  is an internal YouTube measurement that equates to one API op, not one downloaded video). To put this into context, I tried to download videos from a big channel and it stopped after a couple of hundred. Although this was excessive on my part, the approx 200 download limit per day, could easily be achieved on a 1 by 1 basis on larger sites, so it is an issue if you want to download lots of videos in one go or during any given 24 hour period. Incidentally, you can request a highter YT quota, but from comments posted on the web, don't expect an immediate response.

On the other hand, there is a workaround which the developer explained and now all is well and now the plugin is working without using an API key and therefore without the 10,000 unit default limit - it's just that it would have been easier had these operational gotchas been highlighted as part of documentation, or on the product page itself.

Also, I'd like to suggest that the developer supports his plugins via support forum, rather than PM, simply because we can learn from the solutions offered to others.

But apart from these, it has to be said, specialised issues, the product works very well. The dev is a pleasure to work with, and in a very short time educated me on some of the finer points of YT quotas, even though, as I said, sharing these up front might save us all a lot of time.

Nice job and I wish all my plugin experiences here, were as pleasant as this one.

It's been a real pleasure sponsoring updates for this plugin. The dev is super responsive and always polite and cooperative. I'm particularly pleased with the Lightbox and filter by tags enhancements, the latter of which allows very quick filtering of potentially thousand of videos.

Excellent application, with several features to meet different website. That's a good thing, shows that the developer wants to give freedom to customize it their way.

There's just one problem...

There is no protection to prevent leeches using your server bandwidth traffic. 
Someone just needs to copy the link and place it on another website.

In this case you need to set up protection on your server to avoid this.

Apart from that detail, I recommend anyone thinking of buying, the developer provides great support.

This is an excellent piece of kit - works as intended and then some.  Very easy to set up once you understand how it all works - I'm still adding bits to it as I find out more and the more you find out the better it becomes.

The only thing I had to do outside the options was to change some of the CSS settings to better suit my needs; other than this I cannot fault the application at all.

It could really use some method of bulk importing YouTube URLs and auto-populating the title and description from the YouTube page. Other than that, the app is very well done.

This has to be one of the hands down best bang-for-your-buck plugins out there. The support is phenomenal and the plugin works great. It has everything I want built in and @onlyME has helped me with multiple setup questions. There was a small bug due to my implementation and he fixed it. This plugin should be twice the price of what they're charging.

I love it, very well built and the support is almost instantaneous. The programmer is really friendly and always willing to help as well. You can't find programmers like him!! He is a gem!
