Chatbox FREE 4.3.1

Really Great App.  Would like to see a few features added, like video support to get it 5 stars.

That being said, for users that had IPB3 with Shoutbox on their forum and have upgraded to IPB4 with Chatbox, here is a really simple query to run that will pull over your chat posts from Shoutbox and throw them into your Chatbox so you do not lose them.  How this query is written you will want a clean chatbox (no messages) so you either want to run this after installing or you will want to delete your current entries.  I could maybe write one to "merge" the two, but won't if there is not enough interest.

INSERT INTO bimchatbox_chat (`id`, `user`, `chat`, `time`)
SELECT `s_id`, `s_mid`, `s_message`, `s_date` FROM shoutbox_shouts

I really liked the chat, but can I still add the following functions?

1. Make the "login" button so that you can enter the user list on the chat pages. This is necessary in order to form a list of "Who is chatting online." And the "exit" button to exit the list. Those who millet left the chat page are automatically logged out.
2. Individual color and style of the text, nickname. Personal settings.
3. Archive chat messages broken down by day.

Is there any trick (even complex ) so that the shoutbox apperars on top of every page (e.g. when viewing the forums or in any section of IPS?).

It would be great to get some detail information instead of a generic "Bug Fixes"

The only piece this app is missing is highlighting of tagged username? Also would be nice to have notification for it.  Other then solid app! Been using it and many thanks for this!

Great app, works as expected. Author took feedback really well and made changes to make it even better.

Still works great on 4.3.4.

My users love this plugin! I love that it supports having its own tab/page (without needing the IPS Pages application), and I love that it works great as a widget. So I have it as a sidebar widget on my Forums page, but also on its own full-page (same chat). This allows people on their computer browser to follow and interact with Chatbox conversations while surfing the forums... or for people who actually want a full-page chat.

The author was quick to follow up on my dumb question, which is great support...especially for a free app.

P.S. The "Auto Welcome" app will interface with Chatbox if you want new user registrations to be posted into chat, so it's a great compliment to Chatbox.

This is nice and simple to use. The only downside is we can't see who is active right now and no options to privately message someone

~ A toggle switch in the menu which allows all links to be opened in new tabs.
~ Add "word-wrap: break-word;" to the css, so posts like "aaaaaaahhhhh!" will word wrap.
~ Allow default height to be set to 100%, so opening the full page Chatbox page (added to nav bar) can actually fill the entire screen.
  For those who don't want to use it in widget mode.
 

What is the difference between this chatbox and the expensive Babble Chat? They both seem to do the same. Thanks.

Best free chat  I have one idea, you can add shout logs to ACP? Is hard to watch in database without user name.

You should fix the time in the chatrow, because it's 3 hours off. At least in my community.

Works good, install went perfect. Not a big fan of the tabs when theres only one tab.. but guess it might improve soon  

Great Chatbox. It has basic functions and a friendly interface. It is enough for me!
If necessary, I will buy a paid version.

To the author: I recommend changing the color in the CSS class responsible for the background of the Rules. Because it currently only looks good on light themes, when using dark we have one bright strip that catches the eye.

Change a class in data\theme.xml file

from:

.cbAnn
     padding: 5px 15px 5px 15px;
     background: # fffee5;

to:

.cbAnn
     padding: 5px 15px 5px 15px;
     background: rgba (0.0,0,0.1);

This change makes the chat box style universal for both light and dark templates.
