Our Forums app is the latest incarnation of the industry-leading IP.Board community forum software, powering thousands of message boards online. Redesigned for even greater integration with Invision Community, it's the most powerful way to enable discussion on your website.
Fluid View New in 4.2
Replace hierarchical forum views with a single sleek view that collates topics from across a selection of forums.
Question & Answer Forums
Question & Answer forums enable users to upvote the best questions and highlight the best reply to give better visibility.
Use the per-forum theming options to uniquely customize each of your forums to match your sub-brands.
Highlight Popular Topics
Topics that receive a lot of activity can be automatically marked as 'hot', and show in the sidebar for visibility.
Clubs New in 4.2
Let users create their own sub-communities within your site, complete with forums, galleries and more - ideal for departmental groups, interest-based communities... or when your product team is working on something super secret 😉
Public, Private, Open, Closed
Clubs can choose an appropriate club type to determine how much they share with the wider community.
Club moderators can be granted full control over their clubs, and approve join requests or invite new members to the club.
Integrated With The Community
Club content is fully integrated into the community - content will appear in users' activity streams, search results, and users get notifications.
Leaders can customize their club with a photo, banner image, and add new content areas when needed.
Upload, share and even sell all kinds of files within your community. Let users upload and share with each other, or use built-in access controls to create a resource repository for your community site.
Files automatically keep a revision history, allowing staff to roll back or users to download older versions of the file.
Create custom fields that can be required (or optional) when users submit files. Great for data specific to your Downloads use.
Forums Topic Creation
Downloads can automatically create a new topic in the Forums for you, complete with file screenshots. Great for support topics!
Build A Digital Marketplace
With our Commerce integration, users can sell digital files for a price they set, with the site taking a cut you determine.
Set up events in any number of calendars created within the community. Customize event pages and request RSVPs from other users, and export events to the iCal format.
Request RSVPs to events, and choose to set a maximum number permitted for each event. Users attending (or who have indicated they can't attend) are shown right on the event page.
Venues New in 4.2
Set up venues so that adding multiple events for one location is simple. Users can easily see all events happening at each venue too.
Calendar supports the iCal standard, meaning it's possible to both subscribe to events with Calendar, and also import events from other calendar applications, like Apple iCalendar and Google Calendar.
Add photo and media sharing to your community. Gallery is a fully-featured photo and multimedia sharing app for Invision Community. Create albums, upload photos, discuss the hottest shots and much more.
Let users create and manage their own albums, and determine how visible they are to the wider community.
Images & Video
Gallery supports video media as well as the standard image formats. Videos exist in albums just like images!
Protect your community's content with copyright fields and customizable watermarks, embedded automatically in all uploaded photos.
Add Photo Notes
Users can add notes to photos they upload by dragging a box around interesting parts of the image.
Allow users to create their own individual or group blogs within your community, to share their ideas, thoughts and insights.
Collaborate with other users by starting group blogs, for when more than one member has something to contribute to the subject.
Private & Invite-Only Blogs
Users can designate their blog as completely private, for their own use only, or create invite-only blogs where they specify who may read it. Of course, site staff have full oversight of all blogs created.
If a user has an existing blog elsewhere, no biggie - they can import their entries automatically using Atom or RSS. Now they get more exposure within your community, with no extra work!
